The project's central question is: “how were party resources distributed between black and white candidates in the 2020 municipal elections and what were the lessons learned for 2022?”, from which derive several other questions that help to compose a picture of challenges to be addressed. faced.

The research methodology is concerned with collecting national data on black candidates for the 2020 electoral election and enabling qualitative analyzes that are representative of the country's regional diversities so that we can prepare a more accurate diagnosis, which takes into account local and regional peculiarities. .

For the quantitative phase, we will carry out analyzes to identify who received the party's resources and how these campaign resources were spent, based on the databases made available by the TSE regarding the 2020 elections. For the qualitative phase, we will conduct interviews with at least 30 elected and non-elected candidates, residing in 10 municipalities in the country, considering differences between capitals and interior cities.
